Garden

Throughout the first lockdown of 2020 my family and I were able to spend a lot more time gardening, making us more aware of the wildlife that visited.

My daughters grew flowers, vegetables and salad leaves from seeds, so there was an abundance of colour and fresh food throughout the summer.

Which was shared with family, eaten and preserved. The grandchildren always like to pick the strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and redcurrants. This year with the addition of fresh peas.

We wanted to change our small water feature into something that was more wildlife friendly, so created a pond from half an old whisky barrel and added a few fish and pump. We’ve been customers of the Water Garden in Hinton Parva for many years buying tropical fish and plants, so it made sense to tap into their outdoor pond knowledge. Ben as ever was helpful and full of information and advice.
